This weekend was crazy! My sister-in-law and brother-in-law came in town this weekend from St. Louis, so it was great to spend time with them! Saturday morning I graduated!!!! That was a HUGE relief!! Then we celebrated my graduation and the May birthdays in the family last night. Today was Mother's Day of course, so we spent some time with our mommies today. Whew, we were sure busy!!
Friday we leave for Colorado!!! No real plans....if anyone has any ideas of stuff to do or places to eat at in the Denver-ish area, leave me a comment!!!

Sick day : (
Brian is sick today, which is a bummer....
I spent today at home cleaning the house. It is so not my forte, but I am learning. I have a Martha Stewart in me somewhere!
In my abundance of free time lately, I have found two awesome websites!
One is www.apartmenttherapy.com
It is FILLED with inspiration for modern design. I LOVE it!
I love the simplicity and color of this kitchen!!
Oh, so much I could show you....you need to check it out!
ANOTHER great site is www.unclutterer.com ....they have GREAT tips to keep your home and life clutter-free.
In case you don't see a theme, I LOVE modern and simple living....I just have a hard time with it. How ironic, and natural clutter bug who LOVES clean, modern lines and design. What a conflict!
I hope the mod design diva wins!!!

Time to update this thing....
Well, lots has happened lately with the Mr. and Mrs.
First, I got hired to teach elementary music in the fall in the district that I wanted. That was a huge blessing!!!
Secondly, I graduate this coming Saturday!!!! Finally!!!
Thirdly, Brian decided to go back to school to pursue a degree in Art Education at UCM. I am so excited for him! We kid about how we are going to be 'that hippie couple' who teach 'art and music'. I think it's awesome! And the schedule will be amazing...summers off together!!
Fourthly, we got a new car! My car got totalled due to hail damage, so we got a 2005 Scion Xb off of craigslist. Oh how I love craigslist.....

I have gotten a new found passion for modern design....maybe with the stress of college gone....

Our pets!!!
Here is Otis, our 2 yr. old orange tabby. We rescued him from a local shelter....he was my wedding present from my husband. I named him Otis after the movie Milo and Otis. My dad died when I was 6 and that was the last movie I saw with him. Ever since I had always wanted an orange tabby named Otis.
As a lobster for Halloween.
This is Harriet, our 1.5 year old basset hound/ beagle mix. When I got through with the paper work for Otis and went to pick him up, Harriet had just gotten there. My husband had ALWAYS wanted a girl basset hound, and she looks just like a small one. I immediatly asked to be put on the list for her and a week later we brought her home. I gave her to my husband as his wedding present from me!

Our home!!
Our house was built in 1961 and was owned by my grandparents. It is the house that my mom and uncles grew up in! When my grandmother passed away, my grandpa just couldn't live there anymore. At that time, my then boyfriend (now DH) moved in with a friend and helped fix it up. We now rent it from my grandpa (only $100 a month!) and plan to buy it this summer when I graduate.
It is a 3 bedroom 1 bathroom ranch. It has a one car garage but a HUGE backyard! The basement is the size of the entire house, but is not finished.....yet. It is a walkout which is nice.
Our house is small, but it is perfect for us right now. Here are a few pics! I wish I had befores!!!

About us!
My husband and I grew up together in church and began dating in high school. The rest was history! After four years of dating he proposed, and five months later we were married! I am finishing up my last semester of my degree in music education and my husband is a recent grad from the fire academy. We are on the job hunt!
We got married on June 9, 2007 at the church we grew up in. We had two receptions- one at our church with cake and punch (the good ol' Baptist reception) and one that evening with dinner and dancing.
